As many of you know, a few of the contributors over here @ varsitysquad.blogspot.com are djs. The rest have a huge respect for djs and an even bigger love for music. So we all know what goes into rocking a party and what makes a good dj set. With that said we all talk about and agree on the fact that most, probably about 8.5/10 djs absolutely suck.
The digital revolution has brought in an influx of djs. These pseudo selctors would have never spent $8 a copy for doubles of Peter Piper but now that they have a laptop and a highspeed connection they can lift mp3s from their favorite blogs and head into the club with little to no practice. Which leads me to my next rant. YOU PROMOTORS ARE IDIOTS.....or maybe you dont hear the same thing we all hear. Im not saying you have to know how to scratch to be a "dj" but I do believe you should have a sense for what a crowd wants to hear. You also should be able to beatmatch on some level.
